The Long Paddock

Visit the Long Paddock –Cobb Highway Touring route, by caravan, 4WD or car and explore NSW from the banks of the Murray River to the iconic outback towns of Broken Hill, Bourke and White Cliffs. Only 2 hours from Melbourne this easy self drive touring route offers adventures for all ages and budgets, from fishing to camping from Museums to fine dining to some of the best caravan parks in Australia the Long Paddock has it all. 

The touring route follows the 610 km of the Cobb Highway, across the Murray, Edward, Murrumbidgee, Lachlan and Darling rivers. The Long Paddock takes visitors from the Victorian boarder at Moama through Mathoura, Deniliquin, Pretty Pine, Wanganella, Booroorban, Hay, Booligal and Ivanhoe to the outback at Wilcannia.
 
There are 47 interpretive panels that have been placed along the route that tell the history of this part of Australia. In both words and images the panels tell the story of the pioneers, drovers, shearers, indigenous and transport that are so important to the how our nation developed.
 
Visitors can pick up a complimentary full colour souvenir brochure that gives them all the information they need to travel the Long Paddock . Visitors can also purchase The Long Paddock Audio Tour CD and learn all about the route from the comfort of their own vehicle.
 
The Long Paddock Cobb Highway Touring Route provides a unique opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the drovers and pioneers who opened up much of the area.
