It’s a little known fact that Griffith is also the largest premium wine producing area in New South Wales and produces about a quarter of Australia’s wine. On the Griffith Wine Trail you’ll visit outstanding wineries including McWilliams Hanwood Estate, Westend Estate, De Bortoli Wines and Casella Wines where the delectable (Yellow Tail) Pinot Grigio is a must-try.
To experience a working mixed horticulture and viticulture farm, drop into the Catania Fruit Salad Farm. Join in the fun and pick fruit and nuts straight from the trees or sample the delectable jams, mustards and prunes.
The area around Leeton has been transformed into an oasis of irrigated pastures, orchards and vineyards. The town can claim to be one of the leading producers of a number of wine varieties in Australia with a great range available at the Lillypilly Estate and Toorak Winery. Don’t forget to vist the Leeton Sunrice Centre for a tour and cooking demonstrations in the rice capital of Australia.
