Wagga Wagga"The Heart of the State"

Nestled on the banks of the magnificent Murrumbidgee River, Wagga Wagga is a dynamic and cosmopolitan regional city. With a population of approximately 60,000 it provides a diverse calendar of events, rich cultural heritage and a wealth of fantastic attractions making it the ideal destination for visitors all-year-round.

An arts and cultural oasis from traditional to contemporary, there is something to suit everyone. For a cultural journey, try one of Wagga Wagga’s heritage walks or wander the Wiradjuri Walking Track, named after Wagga Wagga’s indigenous inhabitants.

Fabulous food and wine is on the menu from a wonderful variety of dining experiences. It is also home to some top drops, with boutique wineries offering quality vintages. The Farmers Market featuring over 30 stalls selling gourmet and organic products are held on the banks of the Lagoon on the 2nd Saturday of each month, take a taste of the region home with you.

An eventful city where there’s always something happening. The City hosts more than 400 events every year! From the Annual Wagga Wagga Jazz and Blues Festival, to the magnificent Gold Cup Festival and the Wine and Food Festival – there’s never a dull moment.

Tiptoe through the gardens and stunning parks. The Botanic Gardens is a must-see with its 20 hectares of themed garden beds, zoo and aviary. Take a leisurely stroll around the beautiful tree-shaded Collins Park and the historic Victory Memorial Gardens.

Known as the City of Good Sports, many of Australia’s heroes hail from Wagga Wagga. The Wagga Wagga Sporting Hall of Fame celebrates the careers of local sportspeople both past and present. Some of the famous names include former Australian cricket captain Mark Taylor, rugby league great Peter Sterling and AFL legend Paul Kelly.
